Biography

Abir Asad, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant in the Hematology and Oncology Department at Children’s Health℠. She has a special interest in bleeding disorders including caring for kids who have Von Willebrand disease, heavy menstrual bleeding or iron-deficiency anemia. 

“It’s fulfilling to work as part of a team to help kids manage their symptoms of a bleeding disorder. And it’s so rewarding to watch them improve throughout their treatment,” she says. 

Abir earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She is a member of the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Research Society and the Foundation for Women and Girls with Blood Disorders.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, watching movies and traveling.
