Additional accessibility considerations

Although our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we have also applied some Level AAA Success Criteria: Where possible within brand compliance, we have applied Level AAA color contrast. Our button styles are large enough to prevent click errors for low-vision users. Web pages do not contain anything that flashes more than three times in any one second period. New templates include breadcrumbs to help users identify their location within the website. Section headings are used to organize the content.

We are working to add a high-contrast button to the header to improve usability for low-vision users. We are also working to ensure no information critical to patient care is included in these areas with contrast issues. Content Reflow: In some cases when font sizes are increased, words run off the page instead of wrapping to another line. because These challenges exist only on dated templates which were not designed with accessibility in mind. We are actively working to migrate all content on Childrens.com to updated, accessible templates by the end of the year.   3. Spacing: The spacing between lines, paragraphs, letters, and words across Childrens.com are inconsistent and in many cases non-compliant. because This challenge is especially prevalent in our dated templates which were not designed with accessibility in mind. We are actively working to migrate all content on Childrens.com to updated, accessible templates by the end of the year. For all other cases related to new templates, we are actively working to update our style guide to achieve compliance.   4. Map Zooming: For users that are unable to "pinch" the map to zoom in and out, there is currently no other option to zoom in our our maps. This is a new requirement as a part of the WCAG 2.1 update which we have not had a chance to respond to yet.   5. Video Captions: Some videos on Childrens.com do not have closed captioning applied. because . We are in the process of having all videos on Childrens.com captioned. Please report any problems by contacting us at info@childrens.com.
  6. Error Suggestion: Error suggestion on our Request and Appointment form does not happen automatically. Although the errors are descriptive, they only appear after the form is submitted. For our newsletter sign-up form, errors are automatically detected, but they are not as descriptive as they could be. because While we have existing standards for our forms, they have not been applied to all forms on Childrens.com.
