Children's Health System of Texas takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of Childrens.com:
- Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.
- Assign clear accessibility targets and responsibilities.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.Childrens.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Additional accessibility considerations
Although our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we have also applied some Level AAA Success Criteria: Where possible within brand compliance, we have applied Level AAA color contrast. Our button styles are large enough to prevent click errors for low-vision users. Web pages do not contain anything that flashes more than three times in any one second period. New templates include breadcrumbs to help users identify their location within the website. Section headings are used to organize the content.
