Children’s Health Pediatric Inpatient Rehab and Integrated Therapy Services Center
Children’s Health Pediatric Inpatient Rehab and Integrated Therapy Services Center
Our center provides specialized care for children of all ages with complete medical needs. Many of the children we serve come to us following extended hospital stays due to congenital conditions, serious illness, or traumatic injuries. We offer a supportive and developmentally appropriate setting focused on rehabilitation, recovery, family training and helping each child reach fullest potential. Our inpatient pulmonary therapy and physical rehabilitation programs provide comprehensive therapy services designed to help each child safely transition to home.
We also offer inpatient and outpatient feeding programs for children who struggle to eat. Our unique program helps patients overcome the challenges that affect their eating habits, such as sensory issues and aversions to food textures. We also provide hands-on training for parents to learn how to make special meals for their child.
Children's Health Integrated Therapy A Panda Cares Center of Hope is the new name for Our Children’s House. The newly named center is now located on our Plano campus, which makes it easier for patients to begin rehab and therapy while still seeing medical specialists at the hospital.

Personalized care from a team of experts
Our highly trained team of experts includes all the providers your child may need, including pediatricians, pulmonologists, rehabilitation medicine physicians, pediatric nurses, therapists, dietitians, psychologists, social workers and others. We work together toward a common goal: helping each child make significant progress as quickly as possible. We also work with the team that cared for your child during their hospital stay to ensure they’re involved in your child’s care and recovery journey.
State-of-the-art therapy equipment
We integrate the most advanced high-tech equipment into your child’s physical, occupational and speech therapy. By simulating real-life activities, these tools help your child refine skills they’ll need when they go home. For example, children play virtual reality games to practice shopping at a grocery store or playing soccer that enhance their cognitive skills and strengthen their bodies.
Support for families at every step
We regularly hold family care conferences so you can meet with your child’s care team and discuss their care plan. This plan includes training for parents and caregivers so you can safely and confidently care for your child at home.
Social workers, case managers, psychologists and Child Life specialists are available to your family every step of the way to help with the emotional and logistical challenges of treatment and recovery.
A unique environment that promotes healing
Our center is a comfortable space for children to heal. A parent or caregiver is able to stay 24 hours a day, and siblings are invited to join play time and interact with their brother or sister. Our center’s therapy dog comforts children and families.
Amenities in our center include:
A spacious room for each patient
Access to a calming outdoor space
A schoolroom for reading and learning
A playroom with toys for children of all ages and special needs
Onsite cafeteria and laundry facilities and access to a shared refrigerator
The local Ronald McDonald House® can accommodate extended stays for additional family members.
In the future, we plan to regularly host family movie nights and support groups for parents to further foster community and socialization.
