Our Commitment to Engagement and Inclusion

The Strength of our Mission

Children’s Health was founded to care for the most vulnerable. We are the place where compassion, hope and innovation intersect, delivering the very best care when it matters most. But the things that hold us together aren’t always as bold or highly visible. They’re human. They show up in small moments. And they matter deeply.

For more than a century, our mission has been clear: to make life better for children. That promise endures because we understand one vital truth – the strength of our mission lives in the hands of those who carry it.

When individuals feel trusted, valued and supported, they’re empowered to do their best work. This goes beyond culture for culture’s sake — it’s a purposeful approach that guarantees every child benefits from the compassionate, exceptional care our mission demands.

The Driving Force of Exceptional Care

Engagement and inclusion are the foundational elements that shape how we connect, collaborate and care – every single day.

  • Engagement is the spark that fuels action. It’s about being deeply connected to our mission and each other, actively working toward a shared purpose.

  • Inclusion is the foundation of engagement. It’s the feeling that your presence matters, your expertise is trusted and your contributions bring value. It’s the confidence that your individuality is welcomed.

Guided by our Values

At Children’s Health, engagement and inclusion are built on the core values that define us: selfless service, passionate advocacy, commitment to excellence and unwavering integrity. These values shape how we work, interact, and care for the children and families we are privileged to serve. Our guiding principles are the direct expression of these values, driving the culture that empowers every team member to contribute their best.

  • Care aligned with selfless service: We show up for each other. Whether it’s lending a hand or offering support, we make sure no one faces challenges alone. When we care for one another, we all succeed together.

  • Community aligned with passionate advocacy: Our strength lies in our connections. We create spaces for meaningful relationships to grow, where everyone feels they can share their thoughts, collaborate and be part of something bigger than themselves.

  • Collaboration and inclusion aligned with commitment to excellence: Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. By working together and leveraging our collective strengths, we solve problems, innovate and achieve more than we could on our own.

  • Careers aligned with unwavering integrity: We believe in individual growth. We create opportunities for each person to expand their skills, take on new challenges and build a career that is meaningful and fulfilling.

Employee Work Groups (EWGs)

At Children’s Health, we believe that real connections make work more meaningful. Our Employee Work Groups (EWGs) offer all team members an opportunity to connect in a deeper way with colleagues across the organization with unique shared experiences. More than 30% of team members belong to an employee work group.

These groups provide more than just a chance to meet people. EWGs enable team members to step away from daily routines, build relationships and hear perspectives from individuals in other areas of the organization. Plus, these groups offer a platform to raise important issues with leadership and open doors for development within Children’s Health.

Discover our EWGs, open to every team member as spaces to learn, share, and celebrate together.
