Biography

Charles Timmons, M.D., Ph.D., is a pathologist at Children’s Health℠ and a Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Timmons attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the M.D./Ph.D. program, where he completed his doctoral dissertation in the Division of Human Genetics and Metabolism. He did a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, and served as chief resident during his senior year. He then did a two-year fellowship in anatomic and clinical pediatric pathology at Children's Hospital Colorado in Denver.

Dr. Timmons joined the faculty of UT Southwestern Medical Center in 1988 in the Division of Pediatric Pathology. He is currently a professor of pathology and a representative-at-large to the leadership council of the Program Directors Section of the Association of Pathology Chairs.

Dr. Timmons is also active in the Society for Pediatric Pathology, having served on its Education, Abstract, Practice and Long-Term Planning Committees and Sub-Committees and as chair of the Slide Survey program. He is currently chair of the Fellowship Committee and a member of the Council of the Society.
