Biography

Christina Lobariñas, Au.D., CCC-A, is a certified Audiologist who treats adults and children who have hearing and balance conditions.

Dr. Lobariñas serves as the tinnitus coordinator for the UT Southwestern Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Program. She also specializes in providing balance assessments, hearing assessments, tinnitus evaluations and audiological rehabilitation. She helps patients hear better with hearing aids and assistive listening devices.

Dr. Lobariñas received her Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University. She earned a Master’s degree in Epidemiology and her Doctorate of Audiology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is a Faculty Associate at UT Southwestern. Dr. Lobariñas is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, Dallas Audiology Society, Texas Academy of Audiology and American Speech Language and Hearing Association.

Dr. Christina Lobariñas has participated in research and has many publications. She also works to mentor Audiology students within the department and has been a guest lecturer at Audiology programs.

Audiologists specialize in caring for conditions that affect hearing and balance. They use tests to diagnose and treat these problems using techniques such as hearing aids, balance therapy or hearing rehabilitation. They also work closely with Ear, Nose and Throat physicians (Otolaryngologists) to care for the medical causes of hearing problems.
