Diana Patricia Castro, MD

Biography

Diana Castro, M.D., is a pediatric neurologist who specializes in pediatric neurology and neuromuscular medicine.

After earning her medical degree from the Pontificia University Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia, Dr. Castro completed her pediatric residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. She completed fellowships in pediatric neurology and neuromuscular medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Castro’s clinical interests include neuromuscular medicine, neuro-rehabilitation, pediatric electromyography and general neurology.

She is involved in multiple research protocols for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and Duchenne muscular dystrophy in the pediatric population.

Dr. Castro also has research interests in acquired and congenital neuropathies, including Guillain-Barre Syndrome, chronic demyelinating polyneuropathy and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.
