Biography

Grace Slater, M.D. is a pediatric hospital medicine physician at Children's Health℠ and an Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in hospice and palliative medicine.

Dr. Slater earned her medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed a residency in pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She gained advanced training through a fellowship in pediatric hospital medicine at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She also earned a certificate in clinical research at the Institute for Clinical Research Education in Pittsburgh.

Dr. Slater's current research interests include teaching communication skills for difficult conversations, responding to discrimination in the workplace, elucidating cultural health disparities, and incorporating machine learning and artificial intelligence into diagnostic medical care.

In her free time, Dr. Slater enjoys staying active with running, yoga, and CrossFit.
