Biography

Heidi Kim, M.D., is a Pediatrician at Children’s Health℠. She cares for children of all ages, from newborns through adolescents, and has special interests in caring for children born preterm and those with congenital heart disease. 

“Being a pediatrician is such a special and important job and gives me the opportunity to partner with parents in helping their children grow and thrive into healthy young adults,” Dr. Kim says. “It is a joy to watch my patients grow over the years!”

Dr. Kim has a personal connection to caring for children born preterm. Both of her sons were born preterm, and her older son spent more than a month in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). That experience helps shape the compassion and perspective she brings to caring for patients and their families.

“I truly cherish my patients and their families and feel very grateful that I am entrusted to play such a meaningful role in their lives,” Dr. Kim says. “As a mother myself, I always aim to offer medical advice and guidance that I would use for my own children.”

Dr. Kim earned her medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center. She also completed her pediatric residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Children’s Health and has additional training in pediatric cardiology.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Kim enjoys spending time with her family, trying new restaurants and coffee shops with friends and taking fitness classes.
