Biography

Janith Kay Mills, PA-C, is a physician assistant in Pediatric Neurology at Children's Health℠. She specializes in caring for children with epilepsy

“I am passionate about pediatric epilepsy because it’s an innovative field – and because I love serving children,” she says. 

Mills completed her Physician Assistant training at UT Southwestern and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  She is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Medical Science at Shenandoah University. 

She is a member of the American Epilepsy Society, the Child Neurology Society, PAs for Latino Health (PALH), the Society for PAs in Pediatrics and the Metroplex Physician Assistant Society (MPAS). Mills is also a past president of the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants (TAPA) and has fulfilled many other TAPA roles including Political Action Committee (PAC) Chair, Continuing Medical Education (CME) Chair and Director-at-Large. She is currently a board member for the TAPA Foundation.  She is also a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) serving as a reviewer for potential applicants and is on the AAPA Constituent Relations Commissions.  She has previously served as an AAPA House of Delegate and Alternate Delegate.  Mills has also served as a board member for the Texas Physician Assistant Board appointed by the Texas Governor. Mills remains active in APP groups at UTSW for APP Recognition Committee and APP Mentorship Group. 

Her research interests include epilepsy and orthopedics. She has published more than 30 research articles in orthopedics, hand, neurology, pediatric and OB/GYN journals.

When she is not working, Janith enjoys traveling, going for walks and spending time with her daughter, family and dog.
