Biography
Kenneth Lee, M.D., is a pediatric otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose, and Throat physician) who specializes in caring for children with hearing loss.
At Children’s Health℠, Dr. Lee serves as the Director of the Pediatric Cochlear Implant program. He strives to ensure each child has the best outcome possible after surgery and, through his research, works to develop new implants to improve children’s hearing.
Dr. Lee earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed a general surgery internship and ear, nose, and throat surgery residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He also completed a fellowship in pediatric ear, nose, and throat surgery at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Lee is a leader in the research field pioneering techniques to treat hearing loss in children including the development of new cochlear implants and the effectiveness of bone-anchored hearing aids in children. His research also includes collecting and evaluating data outcomes in children who receive cochlear implants. Dr. Lee has received several grants for various research studies and has published more than 30 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, as well as textbook chapters and review papers. Recognized for his outstanding research, Dr. Lee is the recipient of awards from both the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology and the Triological Society.
As an Associate Professor at UT Southwestern, Dr. Lee has been recognized as an academic leader for his excellent teaching and mentoring skills. He holds the John W. & Rhonda K. Pate Professorship in Otolaryngology and has earned the Faculty Appreciation Award for Teaching at UT Southwestern and while at Washington University during his residency. He guides medical students, residents and fellows, helping them better understand how to care for complex ear, nose, and throat conditions affecting children. Dr. Lee is both an international and national lecturer with numerous invitations to speak at conferences on the topic of hearing loss surgery. He recently was an invited Keynote Speaker at conferences in both Asia and Europe.
Dr. Lee has also been selected by D Magazine as one of the best pediatric specialists in the Dallas area.
