Biography

Linda Nguyen, M.D., Ph.D., is a Pediatric Neurologist at Children’s Health℠ and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in neuroimmune diseases, which are diseases where the immune system (which is supposed to fight off viruses and bacteria) mistakenly attacks the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. These diseases include multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder, MOG antibody associated disorder and more.

Dr. Nguyen earned her medical degree and Ph.D. from West Virginia University. She then completed a residency in Pediatric Neurology at the University of California San Diego and a fellowship in neuroimmunological disorders at UT Southwestern.

Dr. Nguyen is actively involved in research and focuses on a condition called MOG antibody associated disease. This is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system gets confused and makes MOG antibodies and attacks the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves, which can cause problems like blurry vision, trouble walking and seizures. Her work explores how to predict which patients go on to have relapses and treat it more effectively.
