Biography
Neethu Chandran, M.D., is an anesthesiologist at Children’s Health℠ and an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Anesthesiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is dual board-certified in pediatric anesthesiology and general anesthesiology.
Dr. Chandran attended medical school at New York Medical College. She completed her anesthesiology residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC.
Dr. Neethu Chandran provides perioperative anesthesia care to children undergoing a wide variety of procedures. She focuses most of her time at Children’s Medical Center Dallas. Special interests also include high-risk neonatal surgery, neurosurgery, and childhood anxiety reduction through innovation and technology.
Dr. Chandran is a member of the Quality and Safety Committee and is involved in quality improvement projects for the department. She is also a member of the Quality Enhancement Plan at UTSW medical school. She has attended the Teaching Workshop at the Society of Education in Anesthesia and takes a special interest in the medical education of trainees, ranging from residents and fellows to UTSW medical students. She particularly takes interest in simulation. Dr. Chandran is the course director for UME simulation of UTSW medical students. She is also part of the UTSW Department of Anesthesiology Leadership Program. Additionally, she is a long-standing member of the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia.
In her free time, Dr. Chandran enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and trying new things.
