Biography

Patricia Hicks, M.D., is a pediatrician in Complex Care at Children’s Health℠ and a full professor of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern. She has a special interest in caring for children with complex conditions, providing individualized medical care for rare diseases and home management of patients dependent on life-sustaining medical devices. 

“It is a privilege to care for patients and help their families obtain the best possible care for their child,” she says. 

Dr. Hicks earned her medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine-Indianapolis. She then completed an internship and a residency in pediatrics at Vanderbilt University. 

Passionate about medical education, Dr. Hicks holds a Master of Health Professions Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is actively involved in training the next generation of healthcare leaders. She is dedicated to quality improvement and providing the highest quality care centered around the patient and family. 

Outside of work, Dr. Hicks enjoys spending time with her family and gardening.
