Biography

Sharon Kluger, APRN, PNP-AC/PC, is a Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric Surgery at Children’s Health℠. She is most interested in congenital colorectal malformations, including anorectal malformations and Hirschsprung disease. She also focuses on the long-term follow-up and management needs of this population, as well as addressing bowel complications that may occur after corrective surgery.

“Fecal incontinence and severe bowel problems affect the whole child and family,” Kluger says. “We take for granted these bodily functions when they work normally, but when they don’t, the child suffers – socially, developmentally and psychologically. Helping a child become continent and free from accidents can truly change their trajectory in life.”

Kluger completed her Master of Science in Nursing as a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a Post-Master’s Certificate as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas at El Paso.

“I feel deeply committed to each patient I serve,” she says. “I enjoy getting to know my patients and designing individualized care plans that align with their goals and expected outcomes. I also value following colorectal patients from the NICU through adolescence and celebrating their milestones along the way.”

Kluger is passionate about learning, collaborating with colorectal partners nationwide, and advancing colorectal care for all children. Educating families and supporting them through early diagnosis and treatment is a cornerstone of her practice, helping build trust before the challenges of potty training and bowel management arise.

Outside of medicine, Kluger loves spending time with her husband, two kids and two dogs. She enjoys cooking, baking and reading in her spare time.

I enjoy getting to know my patients and designing individualized care plans that align with their goals and expected outcomes.
