Behavioral Health Integration and Guidance (BHIG) Initiative The BHIG Initiative equips pediatric primary care providers with practical training and support to identify, assess and manage common behavioral health concerns in children and adolescents.

This no-cost program offers self-paced online learning, recorded case-based roundtables, monthly provider orientation and consultation office hours, and opportunities to earn 12.5 hours of continuing education credit as well as ABP MOC Part II and Part IV credit.

BHIG is designed to help providers strengthen behavioral health care in pediatric primary care and improve access to support for children, adolescents and families.

Providers benefit from:

  • Self-paced online training modules that can be completed on the provider’s schedule

  • Recorded case-based roundtables for flexible learning

  • Monthly provider orientation and consultation hours

  • Education on screening, diagnosis, treatment and care planning for common pediatric behavioral health concerns

  • Guidance on billing and behavioral health integration in primary care

  • Access to behavioral health expertise, tools and resources to support implementation in practice

  • Connection to Children’s Health behavioral health resources for additional support when clinically appropriate
