Children's Medical Center Plano Emergency Room (ER)
A designated Level III trauma center, the pediatric Emergency Room (ER) at Children’s Medical Center Plano offers a wide range of emergency services to help children overcome the full spectrum of acute injuries and illnesses, from orthopedics to asthma.
Part of a campus expansion that nearly doubled the ER’s capacity in late 2024, the new, 41,000-square-foot ER features leading-edge care and transformative equipment and resources. State-of-the-art imaging technologies include MRI, CT and nuclear medicine machines and expanded X-ray and ultrasound capacity critical to building a Level II trauma center.
A pediatric emergency medicine physician is on staff at all times. Specialized intensive care services are available for patients needing them. When patients require additional care for the most severe and life-threatening injuries, the Children’s Health℠ Transport team can quickly move them to our Level I trauma center in Dallas, providing specialized ground transport at no cost to families via a fleet of ambulances owned and operated by Children’s Health and custom built for children and infants.
The Plano ER is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Located on Preston Road near Legacy Drive, the Plano ER has a circle drive for convenient drop-off, with free parking available in an adjacent lot and a convenient parking garage.
