Biography

Alan Farrow-Gillespie, M.D., is the director of the Pediatric Pain Management Center at Children’s Health℠. He is also a Professor of anesthesiology and pain management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. 

Dr. Farrow-Gillespie earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and finished his anesthesia residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California. He completed his pediatric anesthesia fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, as well as pain management fellowships at the University of Sydney/ Royal North Shore Hospital in Australia and Stanford University Medical Center. 

Dr. Farrow-Gillespie has held academic positions as a clinical instructor at Stanford University Medical Center and as an assistant professor of anesthesiology and pain management at the Texas A&M School of Medicine.  

He is board-certified in anesthesiology, pain management, and hospice and palliative care. He has been published in both American and Canadian medical journals, has given numerous presentations concerning pediatric pain management, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology with subspecialty certification in pain medicine.
