Biography

Dr. Jolley, a Clinical Professor in the department of pediatrics at UT Southwestern, says he is passionate about treating children experiencing gastrointestinal problems. He established the feeding aversion, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and eosinophilic esophagitis clinics at his previous institution. In addition to serving as division chief for 18 years, he served as medical director of specialties clinics, outreach, and telehealth services for pediatric specialties. “I am dedicated to delivering patient-centered care, and these roles have allowed me to better serve our patients, their families and our staff.”  Dr. Jolley is joining Children’s Health℠ as the Gastroenterology Service Chief for the Plano campus.

Dr. Jolley earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed his pediatric residency and pediatric gastroenterology fellowships at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners and is board-certified in pediatric gastroenterology. 

Dr. Jolley is a requested international, national and regional lecturer and has presented on the topic of Short bowel syndrome IMPACT Initiative: An Initiative to Individualize Treatment and Improve the Pediatric to Adult Healthcare Transition. He has also served on the advisory committee for state mandated IBD epidemiology research (House Bill 869) and helped formulate a report to the legislature and subsequently testified to the Florida House Committee on Health Innovation (HB 709) and the Senate Committee on Banking and Insurance (SB 1598) regarding legislation on insurance coverage for elemental infant formulas.

He is a recipient of several research grants, including a Multicenter double-blind study of Colazal in the treatment of 5- to 17-year-old pediatric patients with mild to moderately active ulcerative colitis. He was the principal investigator for the Study to Assess the Safety and Efficacy of Asacol® given to children and adolescents with mildly-to-moderately active ulcerative colitis. He has several original peer-reviewed publications, including pancreatic disease in children and adolescents and Comparison of the 13C-urea blood test to histology and rapid urease testing in the diagnosis of helicobacter pylori infection in children. 

Dr. Jolley’s family moved to Plano in 1984. He met his wife, Danielle, a pediatric nurse, in the Children’s Medical Center Dallas Emergency Room in 1993, and they have two daughters in college. In his free time, Dr. Jolley enjoys reading, cooking and traveling with his family.
