Biography

Natasha Marie Corbitt, M.D., Ph.D., specializes in pediatric general and thoracic surgeon at Children’s Health℠. She is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at UT Southwestern. Her research and clinical interests include biliary atresia, congenital disorders of the hepatobiliary system and complex pediatric wounds.

Dr. Corbitt earned her medical degree and doctorate in cellular and molecular pathology at the University of Pittsburgh. She completed her general surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and received pediatric surgical training at the University of Michigan.

She is the first African American female pediatric surgeon in the United States to hold both an M.D. and a Ph.D. Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Corbitt joined Children’s Health in 2020.
