Playrooms

playroom header

Play has an important role in the healing process for children. Play allows children to grow, develop and communicate, just as they would if they were outside of the hospital. Children’s Health℠ has several areas that promote play and activities for patients and families at both our Dallas and Plano hospital locations.

We encourage hospitalized patients and their families to attend the playroom that their nurse or child life specialist recommends.

NOTE: If your child is in isolation or has a fever within the last 24 hours, they may not be able to visit the playrooms. Talk to your child’s nurse or child life specialist about activities for your child and family to use in their room.

Children's Medical Center Dallas

Our playrooms at our Dallas hospital provide a fun and safe place for patients and families to get out of their room to enjoy playtime. All playrooms are staffed for safety and infection prevention. Patients may be required to have a caregiver present with them in the playroom, dependent on the patient needs.
