What is Pierre Robin syndrome (PRS)?

Pierre Robin syndrome (PRS) is a condition (congenital) present at birth, that can be characterized by a smaller than normal lower jaw (micrognathia), a tongue that falls back in the throat (glossoptosis), and difficulty breathing.

Peirre Robin syndrome (PRS) my lead to other complications including:

• Heart failure

• Hypoxemia

• Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)

• Pulmonary hypertension

• Respiratory distress

How is Pierre Robin syndrome (PRS) diagnoised?

• Physical exam

• Computed tomography scan (CT)

• Sleep study
