Biography

Erik Su, M.D., is an adolescent medicine specialist at Children's Health℠ and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern. He specializes in caring for teens and young adults experiencing eating disorders. 

I am passionate about my specialty because I enjoy working with teenage patients in supporting them, at a crucial time of transition, in becoming healthy and happy adults.
Dr. Su

Dr. Su earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Cohen Children’s Medical Center and completed fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. 

As a professor, Dr. Su enjoys developing quality education materials and supporting the next generation of practitioners of adolescent medicine, including medical students, residents and fellows. He has presented on many relevant topics, including Weight Stigma, Obesity and Eating Disorders, Anorexia Nervosa in Ethnic Minorities, and the impacts of Xanax and Fentanyl in adolescents and young adults. 

“I am passionate about my specialty because I enjoy working with teenage patients in supporting them, at a crucial time of transition, in becoming healthy and happy adults,” Dr. Su says.

Dr. Su is originally from Florida and has lived all over the country. In his spare time, he enjoys video games, watching college football and basketball, hiking and exploring the Dallas food scene with his wife and dog.

    My current research and scholarly interests are in the field of eating disorders and increasing understanding of atypical anorexia nervosa.
