How to help your child take control of bullying and build self-esteem
Parents often want to know what they can do in their own interactions with their kids to give them the confidence to deal with bullying. In this video, Celia Heppner, Psy.D., clinical psychologist at Children’s Health℠, shares the importance of modeling healthy behaviors for children.
Heppner says kids look to their parents for messages about how to interact with the world and how to think about themselves. When parents model assertiveness, kindness towards others and self-confidence, children will respond to those messages and incorporate those behaviors into their interactions with others.
